Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 June 2026

Dies is built so that the personal information you provide stays with you. This policy explains what the app handles, where it lives, and what it never does.

The short version: Everything you enter into Dies is stored only on your device. There is no Dies account and no Dies server. We do not collect, see, sell, or share your personal data, and the app contains no advertising or analytics trackers.

1. Who we are

This policy applies to the Dies mobile application ("Dies", "the app", "we", "us"). If you have any questions, contact us at guillaume@gdai.be.

2. Information you provide

During onboarding, Dies asks you a series of questions so it can produce a personalized life-expectancy estimate. This may include:

You enter these answers yourself. They are used solely to calculate and display your estimate and the related widgets and reminders.

3. Where your information is stored

Your answers and the resulting estimate are stored locally on your device (in an app group container shared between Dies and its home-screen and lock-screen widgets). This data is not transmitted to us or to any third party. We have no servers that receive it, and we cannot access it.

If your device has iCloud device backup enabled, your on-device app data may be included in your encrypted Apple backup. That backup is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.

4. What we do not collect

5. Notifications

Dies can send you an optional daily reminder. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device using your chosen time. Enabling them requires your permission, which you can grant or revoke at any time in your device's Settings. We do not operate a push-notification server and we do not see whether or when you receive them.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Dies offers optional in-app purchases. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive or store your payment details.

To manage entitlements (for example, to unlock features or restore a purchase), Dies uses RevenueCat, a third-party purchase-management service. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat processes purchase-related information — such as an anonymous app-generated identifier and Apple's transaction receipt — to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive the personal or lifestyle answers you enter into Dies. For details, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Children's privacy

Dies is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because Dies stores data only on the device and has no account system, we hold no such information ourselves.

8. Your choices and rights

Because your data lives on your device, you remain in control of it:

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since we do not hold a copy of your data, you can exercise these rights directly on your device. If you have questions, contact us at guillaume@gdai.be.

9. Not medical or actuarial advice

The estimate Dies produces is a statistical illustration generated from your answers and general population data. It is provided for reflection and motivation only and is not medical, actuarial, insurance, or financial advice, and is not a prediction of your actual lifespan. Always consult a qualified professional for health decisions.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here, and continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
